[postcommodity.services] speculates on the afterlife of stuff, unwanted stuff, stuff in storage… and proposes tactical resurfacing and aesthetic layering as a way to reinvent these stuff in perpetuity. Using aesthetics strategically while thinking systematically through an environmental crisis.
The project places itself between the culture that produces the desires for newness and the infrastructures in place to handle the discard produced by those desires and attempts to create new economic and aesthetic loops between those two ends, producing new value from that which is existing, that which we have chosen to produce by changing its image / surface while keeping its material core.
The [ postcommodity.services ] booth will combine a material installation with a video game to engage the audience and present research in an interactive manner.
